Artist at Work (2)

"Every child is an artist.

The problem is how to remain an artist once they grow up."  ~Pablo Picasso

"Art florishes where there is a sense of adventure."  ~Alfred North Whitehead

"Art is not a thing; it is a way."  ~Elbert Hubbard

Art is a way ~ to tell stories.

This is the story of

Corinne Cox, "Artist at Work".

HEADs are always spinning in the world of CorinneSpin.

Dragon T Gar

CorinneSpin is whirling in a good way.

Dragons and gargoyles have begun to emerge from my studio. I was commissioned to make "T Gar", a large 3 foot raku fired gargoyle, for a couple of special art collecting friends for their home on St. Simons Island, GA. That project inspired many other dragons and creatures.

Dragon of Fire web"Dragon of Fire" was made for an invitational show called "Alabama Fire" hosted by the 2017 Alabama Clay Conference in Birmingham and was later purchased at the Grand Bohemian Gallery by a dragon collector from Texas.

I love having my CorinneSpin ceramic art for sale in the Kessler Gallery at the Grand Bohemian Hotel / Mountain Brook. The Grand Bohemian boutique hotels are home to The Kessler Collection galleries which feature high calibur artists from around the world. I am honored to be included with such fine artists.

I also enjoy being a member of the Alabama Designer Craftsmen, comprised of some of Alabama's best craftspersons. The 2017 show at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens was great. Over 50 particpating artists brought handcrafted art pieces that are treasures made with old fashioned craft skills. This annual show, on the second weekend in November at the Botanical Gardens, is well worth checking out.

In October 2018 I will collaborated with collage artist Provie Musso in a month long two woman show in the gallery owned by the Mountain Valley Arts Council in Guntersville, AL. The Mountain Valley Arts Council is a progressive group of art lovers. They work continously to support visual and performing artists in their gallery in a historic home and their ampitheatre in downtown Guntersville.

~Whimsical and FUN, CorinneSpin is guaranteed to make you smile.

I am honored to offer my work for sale in these awesome galleries in Birmingham:
